Asterix At The Olympic Games PC Demo Download Available Now

Asterix at the Olympic Games Gamers can now get the Asterix experience by downloading the fully playable demo version of the game ‘Asterix at the Olympic Games’ from the official website. The game is a prelude to the forthcoming movie which incorporates high-end computer generated animation and combines it with the action feature film to give die-hard Asterix fans an exhilarating experience.

The game is based on the comic book and puts you directly into the shoes of Asterix or Obelix and his faithful pooch Dogmatix as they scramble to Greece in order to aid the love stricken Alafolix. During the course of the game you come across characters like Brutus and his heavily muscled champion and their arch enemy Julius Caesar. Players can switch between Asterix and Obelix at any point and go through a series of escapades like sporting challenges, mind-boggling puzzles and the favorite pastime of the gauls, which is clobbering up Roman legionnaires. The game has been localized in six different languages too.

Asterix at the Olympic Games has been developed by Etranges Libellules, the same company that was responsible for developing ‘Lamborghini’ for the Nintendo 64 and the ‘V-Rally’ series on the PS and PS2 along with other games like Universes of Kirikou, Pink Panther, Asterix and Arthur and the Minimoys.

The game was also developed with the aid of Asterix licensor Les Editions Albert Rene and the film production company La Petite Reine. The movie is said to have the biggest budget in the history of European cinema and is due for release across Europe in the early part of 2008. The game is now available across Europe for the PC, Wii, Nintendo DS and PS2.
