Prototype Delayed to 2009 by Sierra and Radical

Though Metal Gear Solid 4 and sequels of Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man are eagerly awaited by gamers in 2008, one new IP that they were looking forward to was Prototype. However, it has emerged that Sierra and Radical have decided to delay the open-world action game.

A spokesperson from Sierra Entertainment spoke to GameSpot and confirmed that Prototype has been delayed. The rep said, “Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create”

Prototype is now expected to be out in 2009, though they have not specified the exact dates. It will be out on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms. Prototype is being developed by Radical. They are the same people who have worked on games such as Scarface: The World is Yours as well as The Hulk.
