2K Games Release Mafia II Playable Demo

On its way to reaching stores, Mafia II has been garnering attention from gamers around the world. Further augmenting the title’s footprint in the gaming scene, 2K Games has released a downloadable demo of Mafia II for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Allowing players to peep into the world clad with crime and drama, the game is set to penetrate gaming circles well before its release.

The new downloadable demo will transport gamers to the highly intense Empire Bay city. This urban American landscape has been set against 1940s and 1950s background where players can dive into the fiery world of intense shooting and white-knuckle car chases. Unveiling intricate characters and an engaging storyline, the Mafia II demo will drive in the ‘Buzzsaw’ level which has been staged in the scorching summer of the 1950s.

The new chapter in this franchise narrates the tale of Vito Scaletta, a young man who starts on the streets of the city to make a big name for himself. Along with his friend Joe, the lead character can execute tasks assigned to him, in a bid to prove his prowess. Players can scale the crime chart while earning rewards, augmenting their status and facing grave consequences.

In this demo, gamers will be entrusted with the job to capture a mobster dubbed The Fat Man. Players can take help from their on-screen buddies Joe and Henry to accomplish the mission. This game preview will open a window to manifest powerful action, dynamic car chases and offer gamers a glimpse of the large city.

The demo for Mafia II can be downloaded free-of-cost from PlayStation Network for the PS3, Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox 360 and through Steam and other select Internet portals for Windows PC. The new title will hit stores in the North American continent on August 24 while it will reach Australian shores on August 26 followed by other locations on August 27 this year.
