Free DLC for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood out now

A brand new multiplayer mode and map was in the offing for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood as we had reported earlier in the month of November. Now, this DLC dubbed Animus Project Update 1.0 is live on PSN for PS3 and Xbox Live for Xbox 360 console system. Additionally, Ubisoft has revealed that the Animus Project Update 2.0 will be released in January next year which will also be downloadable at no extra cost.

Animus Project Update 1.0

The Animus Project Update 1.0 features a new game mode, Advanced Alliance, along with a new map for Brotherhood’s Multiplayer. The new mode amplifies the difficulties of the original Alliance Mode’s target identification and intensifies its engagement. Allowing three teams of two players each, the Advanced Alliance mode will test players’ mettle with tougher tests and will reward teams using stealth techniques to eliminate their targets. The freshly offered multiplayer map is Mont Saint-Michel, situated on a rocky tidal island of Normandy in France, which landscapes entrancing breathtaking scenery and lays out a terrain enclosing narrow streets, multi-level architecture and a high-perched bell-tower that makes it a great setting for hunters and predators to carry out devious attacks.

A second update, Animus Project Update 2.0, is also reported to be on its way in January next year which will include another new multiplayer game mode and a brand new map, also for free. While the new Chest Capture Multiplayer Mode will have two teams of three players each ally with fellow Templays to defend or capture Chests, the Pienza Map is said to be an ideal territory where predators and targets are offered a free-running playground to blend and disappear. Animus Project Update 2.0 will also integrate a new Templar Score feature that will reward Abstergo recruits for their assiduous work.

The new free DLC Animus Project Update 1.0 can be downloaded at no additional cost for PS3 and Xbox 360 from PSN and Xbox Live respectively, while players can anticipate the next DLC Animus Project Update 2.0 in January 2011.
