Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon Goes Gold, to Hit Stores in July

In September 2010, D3Publisher revealed its plans to further stretch the EDF action saga. The company recently disclosed that Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon has gone gold to arrive into the gaming terrain early next month.

A sequel to the 2007-released Earth Defense Force 2017, its plot revolves around yet another alien infestation on the planet. Portraying an invasion by giant insects and aliens, the game will need players to face fearsome armies while being equipped with more than 300 weapons.

In the title, enthusiasts can team up with two other fighters via co-op play with any four upgradeable armors. Back in March, the company dropped in details about the in-game three-player co-op, six-player Survival Mode on the PSN and pre-order benefits.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on July 5, 2011. Developed by Vicious Cycle Software, this third person shooter will be available in North America at the price of 39.95 USD (approx. Rs. 1,788).
