Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Coming to Wii U: Reports

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Treyarch’s upcoming sequel to its much successful 2010 title, is slated to have a Wii U release as well, suggest some latest rumors. This game is all set to launch for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 13, 2012, but a version for Nintendo’s still undated console hasn’t been revealed as yet.

IGN managed to spot the LinkedIn profile of an Activision quality assurance tester named Randall. According to this description, QA testing for the next CoD game has been continuing since May this year, and Randall’s responsibilities comprised QA on both the PS3 and the Wii U. His other job duties include ‘multiplayer testing while collaborating with team,’ ‘ad hoc testing,’ ‘regression,’ apart from bug writing, research and documentation of each issue that is found.

What’s interesting is that this is not the first time that speculations of a Wii U port for the game have come to the fore. Back in June, leaked scans from an apparent copy of the Nintendo Gamer magazine had surfaced, pointing out that the title will be coming to the Wii U once the console launches. Acting as a ninth game to the immensely popular Call of Duty series, this title will be released with a completely futuristic setting, and it is all set to kick in future warfare technology. For the first time in the franchise, branching storylines that will be driven by the decisions made by players will be presented.

As mentioned above, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be coming out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 13. Activision is still to officially confirm its Wii U version. We’ll have more on it, when it does.
