Nintendo Modifies Weekly Download Schedule

Having made 3DS gamers wait for a while, the Nintendo eShop unlocked its doors to offer a leeway into a wide library of gaming titles. Now, it has been uncovered that there’s more to the eShop than just delivering games onto the portable and shiny 3D hardware. The service has brought along some news which could make enthusiasts jump with joy or may be, even disappoint a few.

Well, Nintendo Download has undergone a certain transformation as it will dispatch games via the newly opened Nintendo eShop alongside WiiWare and DSiWare. Furthermore, the weekly update, elucidating on each week’s downloads, has been pushed back to Thursdays. This means that we’ll be reporting about downloadable games streamed out of Nintendo’s lab for its varying systems on Friday.

With the integration of the eShop into the weekly round of downloads, gamers can expect to play fresh and classic titles on the 3DS. Select classic video games have been re-mastered in 3D while VC versions of titles that were original released on the Game Boy and Game Boy Color will also pave way for the hardware.

Starting June 16, 2011, the gaming giant will unleash a roster of games for the Wii and DSi family of system making their way through the WiiWare, DSiWare, WiiWare, Virtual console and even the Nintendo eShop.
