The Nintendo Channel was put in place by Nintendo so that Wii users could watch videos, commercials, trailers and even download demos for the Nintendo DS. The channel also provides information about upcoming products from the Japanese company. Now we have word that Nintendo has re-launched the Wii home console’s Nintendo Channel to sport a new look and feel.
Among the upgrades are, lists of top games as recommended by other viewers, higher quality streaming videos, and the ability to rate and recommend Nintendo DS games. Features presently provided by the channel will remain, including the Nintendo DS demo downloads, plus the impressive lineup of Nintendo DS and Wii games.
The Nintendo Channel will, as part of the update, premiere ‘Nintendo Week’, a weekly series focusing on what’s happening in the world of Nintendo. The first episode will feature a detailed look at Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, an interview with the developers behind Guitar Hero 5 for the Wii, as well as coverage of new Nintendo DSi colours and more.
The Nintendo Channel can be downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel, and is available for free to Wii owners.
