Monster Hunter Tri will deliver new Quests and Hunts long after Launch

As Monster Hunter Tri is scheduled for release this month, Capcom has pledged support for the game well after release. The Japanese developer and publisher will offer unique event and arena quests on the Wii which will be accessible for limited periods. The online quests will expand the Monster Hunter Tri game experience and offer rewards only available while the quests are open.

If players successfully complete these quests, their world will be opened up further with upgrades for weapons and armour for use in standard single or multiplayer quests. These events will be made available multiple times and the schedule for quests will be updated on Capcom’s community site every Friday.

There will be Event Quests, Gigantic Monster Quests and Arena Quests. Event Quests will allow up to 4 players to take on a number of challenges online. Hunters must have a certain rank to compete in these quests though, and specialized weapons can be obtained only by participating in Event Quests. Gigantic Monster Quests will only be available for one day at a time and will put players against the challenging and rare Jhen Mohran. Players will be on board a ship as they fight the beast, using cannons and their customised weapons. Arena Quests will let 2 players fight against solitary monsters in many coliseums either in traditional Monster Hunter style or in a time attack style.

The game releases in North America on April 20, 2010 and fans in New York will get an early look an the special event quest content during the game’s launch event at the Nintendo Store on April 17, 2010.
