Super Mario Bros. Turns 25 with Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition

Mario’s 25th anniversary was celebrated extravagantly with bright red and polished black Nintendo Wii Limited Edition bundles earlier this year. Nintendo is commemorating this juncture, 25 years of Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo Entertainment System, yet again with Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition which bundles four classic Mario game playable on the Wii console, a soundtrack CD featuring few of the notable Mario tunes and an illustrated memorial booklet.

Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition will bundle Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. Refining each game with enhanced graphics and updated sound of the original NES Super Mario All-Stars game and is said to be compatible with the Wii Remote controller, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro and the Nintendo GameCube controller.

“Whether you’ve been a Mario fan for 25 years or are just now discovering his games, this limited-edition collection is packed with hours of fun,” commented Marc Franklin, Nintendo of America’s director of Public Relations. “These classic games, along with the soundtrack CD and Super Mario History booklet filled with rare concept art, make this a must-have collection for every video game fan.”

A Super Mario History soundtrack CD comprising of memorable music and classic sound effects from Mario games is also packaged within the limited edition. This disc includes tracks from the original Super Mario Bros. game up to the current year’s offering, Super Mario Galaxy 2. Reported also to be the first CD release of the Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme in North America, the Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition is also enclosed with a 32-page Super Mario History booklet consisting of interviews, candid photos and rare design sketches as well as concept art.

With a suggested retail price of 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,350), the Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition will be available as long as the supplies last.
