Games for Windows to Merge with Xbox.com

With the shadow of Steam always looming over it, Microsoft’s online gaming market apparently could never really make its presence felt among PC gamers. The move to merge itself with its console counterpart therefore seems quite calculative. Games for Windows recently announced that the website will soon move its base to Xbox.com. Eurogamer has confirmed that the merger will take place on July 11.

‘Games for Windows Marketplace will fully transition over to Xbox.com. Now you can get all of your gaming needs in one place. It’s convenient, it’s concentrated, and it’s a whole lot of great games,’ is what an update on the website read.

The website also assured its users that they will get their gaming needs in one place. Microsoft had re-launched the site last October in a bid to make the store ‘a destination for games for PC gamers.’

PC gamers would as always hope that they don’t get sidelined by this merger.
