Earlier this month, we had reported that Microsoft had slashed the prices of their present generation console in the United States. The prices of the Xbox 360 were already cut by Microsoft Japan. Now Microsoft has sent word that they have cut the prices of the Xbox 360 in the United Kingdom.
So what prices can the gamers in the UK expect? Well, the least expensive model will be Xbox 360 Arcade console, which will come with a price tag of £129.99 (approx. Rs. 10, 860). As for the 60GB Xbox 360, it will cost £169.99 (approx. Rs. 14, 200). The Xbox 360 Elite will come with a price tag of £229.99 (approx. Rs. 19, 215).
Neil Thompson is the senior regional director for Microsoft UK. He explains, “Xbox 360 has now sold over 20 million consoles worldwide and due to its unprecedented success, we are now able to pass on the rewards of that success to the consumer with a new retail pricing from £129.99. With more games, more entertainment with Xbox LIVE and now even more value, we are looking forward to welcoming more customers into the leading Next Generation console, Xbox 360.”
The Xbox 360 price cuts in the United Kingdom by Microsoft will be effective from September 19, 2008. Besides speaking about the Xbox 360 price cuts, Microsoft also stated that gamers can expect games such as Lips, Guitar Hero World Tour, Fallout 3, James Bond: Quantum of Solace and Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360.
