PC Version of Worms Ultimate Mayhem Delayed, Will Hit Steam on September 28

The PC version of Worms Ultimate Mayhem which was supposed to hit Steam this week, has suffered a one week delay as it has been announced to release on September 28, 2011. Said to be a ‘high definition reimagining’ of Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem, this title is also slated for a PS3 and Xbox 360 release, the dates of which are yet to be announced.

Worms Ultimate Mayhem is being touted by developer Team 17 to be ‘ludicrously customizable.’ The game will apparently provide players with over one hundred customization options that include worms wear, silly hats, hands, gloves, mustaches, glasses, gravestones and speech banks. Shooting challenges, speed runs and other ‘crazy’ missions form of part of the various game modes that are on offer through this title.

Its Wormpot feature allows game style adjustments that apparently hold over 1,000,000 possible combinations. Additionally, the Weapon Factory lets gamers create their own arsenal and decide its effects on enemies. Up to four players can participate in the game’s local multiplayer option which includes modes like Statue Defend, Homelands and Deathmatch. Players even have the ability to generate their own game settings while competing with friends.

Worms Ultimate Mayhem will be made available to PC gamers through Steam on September 28, 2011. Buyers can avail a 10 percent discount by pre-ordering it a price of 13.49 USD (approx Rs. 644). A bundle which comprises four copies of the game can be purchased for 44.97 USD (approx Rs. 2,150). Moreover, a package deal of Worms Ultimate Mayhem and Worms Reloaded is currently available at 23.98 USD (approx Rs. 1,146).
