BioWare is still to reveal more about the Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC which was confirmed recently by one of the game’s voice actors, but the developer has gone on to detail a third of its kind free multiplayer add-on called Earth. Just like the Resurgence and Rebellion packs, this content will be doled out at no cost for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of the title.
Slated to arrive on July 17, this DLC will infuse the game with three new maps, fresh characters, weapons and more. Firebase Rio, Firebase Vancouver and Firebase London, the three strategic locations from this title’s campaign, have been chosen to be the new maps included in the add-on. New character classes that make their way into the pack include the N7 Demolisher Engineer, N7 Destroyer Soldier, N7 Fury Adept, N7 Sentinel Paladin, N7 Shadow Infiltrator and N7 Slayer Vanguard.
With this DLC, gamers will even be able to unlock the N7 Piranha Shotgun, N7 Typhoon Assault Rifle and Acolyte Pistol weapons for use in multiplayer. Moreover, a total of 12 modifications and 11 fortifications will be made available. For those adept with the game, a new Platinum difficulty mode will be accessible as well. Furthermore, a new objective occurring randomly during waves 3, 6 and 10, will be incorporated in the Earth DLC, asking players to keep a targeted agent alive by protecting and escorting them to a particular extraction zone on each map.
The Mass Effect 3 Earth DLC will be released via PSN, Xbox Live and Origin on July 17, 2012 in North America, while its European launch will take place a day later.
