The Witcher Series sales Hit 4 million milestone

Developer CD Projekt RED has made a global announcement via a press release that The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings have hit a 4 million sales record. Morever, after PC and Xbox 360, the second version is all set to be made available for Mac users in the near future.

Based on a book series that goes by the same name, this sequel takes gamers into the world of Geralt of Riva. Its plot is a vantage point of different story lines and quests that provide the game with multiple endings. Gamers, as Geralt, one of the few surviving witchers, will tactically sort the rising conspiracy amongst the Northern kingdoms and journey through the game with an aim to recover his lost memory.

“I’m still amazed with the result we have achieved with The Witcher franchise. Many gamers on many platforms have been drawn to the vivid and complex world we have created. In the gaming world summer means a lot of great, hot deals. So if you still don’t own the game look out for both retail and digital special offers. ‘The Witcher’ and ‘The Witcher 2’ are great, robust RPGs, that every true gamer should own,” remarked Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio.

The first version of this title made its debut in 2007 for PC and Mac. Its sequel was released for PC in May 2011, followed by the Xbox 360 almost a year later. After this game, the company has stated that it plans to develop a new RPG based on the Cyberpunk universe created by designer Mike Pondsmith. This game is set to showcase a futuristic non-linear plot with civilizations on a verge of extinction.

The Witcher 2 is now available to purchase for the Xbox 360 via Amazon at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,355).
