Rock Band Music Store to Feature Tracks From Blondie, La Roux and More Next Week

The popular Rock Band Music Store is expanding its collection with some of the biggest singles. We’ve brought the list of next week’s new releases from the den of Harmonix and MTV games. In the coming week, the music library for Rock Band will augment with hits from artists such as Blondie, La Roux, The Decemberists and more.

Debuting on the Rock Band platform, dc Talk, The Decemberists, Eels, La Roux and Eagles of Death Metal will bring fresh acoustics and enhance the gaming experience for fans of the franchise. Alternative rockers dc Talk will dish in with ‘Jesus Freak’ from the album bearing the same name. The Decemberists will further elevate the musical treat by dishing out ‘The Perfect Crime # 2,’ from their album The Crane Wife.

Arriving with ‘Saturday Morning’ are indie rockers Eels while electro-pop duo La Roux begin their journey in the title with ‘Bulletproof’ from their 2009 album. Lastly, Jesse-Hughes and Josh Homme come with ‘I Only Want You’ from their Eagles of Death Metal album Peace, Love, Death Metal, released in 2004.

Further, Blondie makes a comeback with ‘Rapture’ which will infuse the rocking acoustics with rap music. Metal rockers KMFDM will unveil ‘Strum & Drang’ from their 2002 release Attak while rap rockers Family Force 5 contribute ‘Love Addict’ from their debut album titled Business Up Front/Party in the Back. Till now, users could lay their hands on tracks from the KMFDM and Family Force 5 only from the Rock Band Network Music Store.

From August 3, 2010 onwards, Rock Band gamers can procure these tracks from their Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii consoles. ‘I Only Want You,’ ‘Saturday Morning’ and ‘Bulletproof’ will be available in the family-friendly Lego Rock Band Music Store too. Players in the US will have to shell out 1.99 USD (approx. Rs. 92) while those in the UK can obtain each track for .99 GBP (approx. Rs. 72).

Those located in other European countries can access these songs for 1.49 Euros (approx. Rs. 90). Individual tracks can be purchased for 160 Microsoft Points too. Wii gamers can access these songs for 2 USD (approx. Rs. 92) or 200 Wii Points per track. PS3 owners situated in Europe will be able to get their hands on the tracks on August 4, 2010.
