We are not PS3 developers: Valve’s Doug Lombardi

It is a well known fact that Valve does not like the PlayStation 3 that much. A few months ago, Valve boss Gabe Newell had said that the PS3 is a total disaster on many levels. Now Doug Lombardi from Valve has indicated that they are NOT PlayStation 3 developers.

Valve

Their forthcoming game, Left 4 Dead will be released for the PC and the Xbox 360, but not the PS3. Lombardi told CVG in an interview, “We’re not PS3 developers – we’re doing PC and 360 like with Orange Box. EA came to us and said ‘Wow, Orange box was an incredible project, can we do a PS3 version.”

Doug Lombardi mentioned that Left 4 Dead is a new IP and if the game is a big hit, gamers can expect a PS3 version of the game. He indicated that if and when they do a sequel of Left 4 Dead, gamers might be more interested in that. Well, it would be nice if Valve gets Left 4 Dead on the Sony’s next-gen console as many PS3 gamers would love a shooter like that.
