Sony to Unleash ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for PS3 in September

In the recent past, several PS2 classics have been tossed with revamped graphics and audio to satiate retro enthusiasts on the system’s successor. Now, two more games are being refurbished to render exciting adventures from the past on Sony’s current generation home console. A post on the official PlayStation blog has reported that the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection will be delivered for the PS3 this September.

ICO & SotC Collection

This assortment bundles together two games dubbed ICO and Shadows of the Colossus into a single pack. Re-mastered to flaunt 1080p HD resolution, these titles support stereoscopic 3D and 7.1 surround sound. The company has also infused modern day popular elements such as Trophies into the these games.

Both ICO and Shadows of the Colossus were developed by popular visionary Fumito Ueda and his team. The former was originally released on the PS2 in 2001 before being revived during the first half of 2006. Shadows of the Colossus hit stores for the PS2 in 2005 while it will be released as a standalone PS3 title later this year.

Gamers can obtain the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for the PS3 at the price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,790) from September 27, 2011.
