Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943 to Expand with Battle for Caen pack

Oriented around significant skirmishes based on European Theatre of World War II which took place between 1939 and 1945, Theatre of War is a real-time tactical strategy video game series. Fore fronting the series is its new addition Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943, a combined effort of 1C Company and Battlefront. Developers have announced an expansion pack furthering their joint venture of vehement war-games, Theatre of War 2: Battle for Caen.

Historically, Operations ‘Goodwood’ and ‘Epsom’ were carried out by the British Troops during Second World War and occurred in the area surrounding the city of Caen. In the game, players are given command over units of the British 11th Armored Division during these operations. Gamers will experience magnificent battles involving immaculately modeled AFVs and a large number of soldiers while 2nd, 21st and 1st SS and 12th SS Panzer Divisions become tough resisting forces against them.

Theatre of War 2: Battle for Caen package bundles with a new historical British campaign named ‘Battle for Caen’, more than forty new UK, Wehrmacht and SS units as well as infantry squads. Daimler Littlejohn, Gepard, Crusader III AA, 3 inch mortar, Achilles, Challenger, Cromwell, Churchill are few of the units that proliferate the currently existing vast arsenal of the original ToW2: Kursk 1943.

Additionally, Sherman Firefly, PaK 43, Tiger B with Porsche turret, Pz. III M, Pz. IV H and ‘A’ and ‘G’ Panthers are packaged within, ready to be incorporated into battling strategies. A scenario generator can be utilized to landscape eight new Normandy maps which allow multiplayer mode of action. The expansion pack features various German and UK infantry weapons and ammunition such as Panzerfaust 30, PIAT, StG 44 and Panzerschreck.

With the beta grounds expected to be sealed soon, ‘Battle for Caen’ anticipates public unveiling in November 2010. The new pack necessitates a prerequisite of the original Battlefront version, ToW2: Kursk 1943.
