Worms Ultimate Mayhem out through XBLA and Steam

Worms Ultimate Mayhem is actually hitting PC through Steam after the release was pushed further down the calendar a little more than a week ago. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 gamers who happen to be fans should know that it’s up for downloading through XBLA too.

Worms Ultimate Mayhem

The title is touted to be a reimagining of Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem, to bring the best of both into one single package. Team 17, creator of the game, is calling it a ‘pumped up digital collector’s edition’ of the franchise. The camera controls are touted to be smoother, effects better than before and HD visuals even more rich.

The company has put up an ‘Enhancements’ trailer on their official YouTube channel to show off everything that’s fresh in the new installment. Apparently, the water’s ‘water-ier’ and there’s a picture in picture presentation to look forward to. Team 17 has also spared a mention for ‘loyalty’ content, ‘family’ and ‘beginner’ modes.

This latest offering is packed in with 60 single player missions, a whole horde of challenges and 12 graphical themes. It even includes 38 weapons and utilities and full online play for a maximum of 4 players. Players will also be extended a number of ways to customize their worm as well as the entire 3D game experience.

Worms Ultimate Mayhem can be downloaded for the Xbox 360 through XBLA for 1,200 Microsoft Points, while it can be purchased for $14.99 (approx. Rs. 733) or €12.99 (approx. Rs. 864) for PC from Steam. On the other hand, PS3 will get the game some time before the year’s end.
